The Surgical Process…

Prior to surgery, each patient receives a thorough physical examination to identify any existing medical conditions that might endanger your pet’s health. Because not all problems can be detected on examination, we also perform pre-anesthetic blood testing. These tests not only give us a more complete picture of your pet’s health but also allow us to tailor an anesthetic regime that is specific for your pet.

Dr. El-Akbawy proudly accepts referrals from local Veterinary Hospitals and in many occasions is requested to perform surgeries at other facilities. Pain management is a part of our pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative anesthetic and medical protocol. We urge you to discuss operative pain management options with our staff.

We take pride in our surgical services and we are sure you will be happily impressed as well. Good communication between doctor and owner is a very important part of pet care, so we encourage you to ask questions about the treatment we give your cat. We promise to give you the information you need to make well-informed decisions regarding your cat’s health and to set your mind at ease.
